On Oct. 31, 2020, the contract between Cox & Kings Global Services (CKGS) and the Government of India is set to expire in the U.S. The CKGS website requests that only applicants with serious or emergency needs contact the Indian Mission directly to apply for services like an Indian Passport, OCI, Renunciation, or an Indian Visa. The CKGS website will stop allowing applicants to fill out paperwork on their website at 5 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The website further states that incomplete applications with missing documents pending will be returned to the original applicant on Friday, Oct. 16, using the required shipping payment or a prepaid envelope. They will process any requested documents that they receive on or before Oct. 16.

Regarding applications currently in their possession, processed documents and applications missing a return shipping label or payment will be submitted to the Indian Mission on the morning of Monday, Oct. 19. New postal applications will not be accepted as of Monday, Oct. 19. Again, those received on or before Friday, Oct. 16 will be processed as normal.

Applicants “with a compelling reason only” are advised to contact the Indian Mission/post for more details. Applicants can continue to track the status of their application on the CKGS website after Oct. 31.

The website also reminds applicants who misrepresent themselves or their situation for quicker service from the consulate are leaving themselves open to legal action.

At CKGS, there will be delays involved in processing applications received through the mail. Applicants are advised to wait at least 72 business hours before trying to check their application status on the website. Further, walk-in appointments are no longer available until further notice.
